Setting up a Google Hangout with the instructor
IntroductionI would like to have a quick face-to-face meeting with each of you so I can hear how things are going and answer any questions that you may have. Since meeting in my office isn't possible, I wanted to schedule a Google Hangout with each of you. Google Hangout is similar to Skype but has some additional features that Skype doesn't. You will also be using Google Hangout in EDIT 761 so I thought that now would be a good time to become familiar with the tool. The video on the right gives a brief introduction to what Google Hangouts can do.

Scheduling
We will use a free tool called Doodle to schedule meeting times. Just follow these easy steps:
- Visit the sign-up sheet that I created by clicking here.
- Enter the required information
- Make sure that you are logged into your Gmail account during the time that you selected and look for my Google Hangout invitation
Preparing
If you've never used Google Hangout before, you should take some time to test it out BEFORE our meeting time. I've created this sandbox link that will allow you to play with the tool and make sure that your video and audio will be working. Google has also created some great help pages to help you get started.
